Writer/Producer: Kimma Drake
Kimma Drake is a playwright, screenwriter, film
producer and artist who has furthered her career by becoming a member
of the innovative independent film scene.
Kimma acted as the Writer, Producer, Production Manager, Casting Associate,
Costume Designer and Executive Producer on her current film, “Skeletal
Dreams.” Skeletal Dreams started out as a poem, which was originally
written almost 20 years ago in a Princeton, New Jersey high school library.
From this poem she wrote the actual story as a stage play, but thought
it would definitely prove to be a very interesting screenplay. Most of
the dialogue was kept true to the original stage play, which gives the
film a more theatrical style.
Kimma started out working in television production and worked her way
through the media wire to create radio commercials and then found an interest
in film. She worked with another local Atlanta independent film company
in Marketing and Production before branching off on her own.
Kimma has studied film under the same great masters that instructed Quentin
Tarantino and Guy Ritchie to their first feature films!
Kimma holds a Masters degree in Project Management which proves beneficial
for her continuous film planning and production. She has many other projects
in the works along with another screenplay, which will be completed in
2007.
She anticipates her world premiere of Skeletal Dreams at the New York
International Independent Film and Video Festival in November 2006. |
